A Sleight Change

Hey everyone!

Wanted to give a few quick updates. I know, at this point we might as well call the "LOG" the list of promised updates, but we'll get to that.

You may have noticed a change to the splash page when entering SleightError. This isn't a mistake — it's the beginning of a redesign of the site.

For now, I'm keeping the logs (like this one you're reading) tucked away in THE ARCHIVES. Eventually, perhaps, they'll find their way back into the redesign. Right now, though, I'm more interested in turning SleightError into something completely different — more experience than webpage, if I can pull it off.

That will take time, and lately I seem to have less and less of it.

No worries. Things will level out, and I'll get back to doing my thing soon enough.

I did have to take one project, SEEM, down completely after it managed to hit Cloudflare's database read limits. Not that many people were really looking at SEEM anyway, but still — lesson learned.

I may be taking AI Ant Farm down for a while too. I know how I could build it out into an entire little ecosystem, but I'm not sure the idea is fully cooked yet. Rather than keep burning compute on it just because it exists, it might need to go back on the stove for a bit.

That's probably going to be the theme for a while.

Some projects will disappear.

Some will make the jump into the new SleightError.

Some will get a facelift, get reworked, and find a new home somewhere inside whatever this thing becomes.

And some ideas probably need to be allowed to die so there's room for better ones.

Either way, I'm excited to start creating what's been rattling around in my head.

So, consider this a quick update, a hello from the Wiz — though lately he feels a little more like the Hermit — and a bit of well-wishing wherever you happen to be on your own journey.

Take care out there,

Zach
